What is Bipolar Disorder?

Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder that causes intense mood swings from mania extreme energy/high and or irritable moods to depression feelings of deep despair, sadness, and hopelessness, and then back again, sometime with periods of normal mood in between.

Extreme changes in energy, activity, sleep, and behavior go along with these changes in mood.

Now everyone experiences changes in mood but the differences with bipolar mood swings is the way they affect our ability to carry out day-to-day tasks, and have effects on areas of life such as relationships, work, and school.

Bipolar disorder symptoms can result in damaged relationships, poor job or school performance, and even suicide.

Not only do people with bipolar have mania and depression moods state but we can also have mixed moods state and hypomanic mood state, and there are different types of bipolar.

I will talk more about that and more in future post.
